Guess what I got yesterday? Oh, well the title of this post might have given it away, but yes! I did get a new Nintendo Switch in the mail yesterday. I bought it from Amazon and for some reason, they decided to deliver it to my mail box! The case and cover were delivered directly to the house earlier this morning, but the actual Switch arrived later in the mail. Not sure why that.
Anyway, I spent most of yesterday messing with it. Got it set up on my desk with it hooked to one of the small monitors I bought not too long ago. It works just fine with this setup and I can get it charged pretty easily. I did buy a cover, but I’m not sure that’s the one I want to keep since it won’t fit in the dock. They have to be really thin to fit in that dock and this one isn’t. It is nice to hold in the hands, but there are others that will fit in the dock and give better handholds on the sides.
Still, my initial thoughts are that this might be going back. I’m having a little difficultly reading some of the text on the screen and I’m just not sure this is the thing I want to carry around to just play games with. It’s not like I don’t have a ton of other tablets that I could play games on, but I don’t even do that on those! Then, if they release a new all screen iPad mini, I’m just not going to want to haul this Switch around. I saved all the packaging material and was real careful with unboxing the Switch and all the accessories. I’ll give it a few days or maybe a week or two.
I did load Tetris of all games on the Switch and it seems to play fairly easy, but I certainly won’t just sit here and play Tetris all day long. I need to look at some of the racing games, but I really don’t want to pay a bunch of money for games that I won’t use or don’t plan to keep. Not sure how that’s going to work. Oh, well, time will tell.
