Crap! What a way to start! First pitch from G. Juarez is a home run! First damn pitch. She isn’t worth crap. I don’t know why Patty Gasso uses her in critical situations! Finally, she did strike out the rest of the side after they got another hit. Top of the 1st – OU – 0 vs JMU – 1
Ok, OU did nothing! They hit the ball, but not out and not for runners. So, OU – 0 vs JMU – 1 after one complete inning.
Well, not a bad inning for G. Juarez. Two strikeouts and an infield fly out. No harm done in the top half of the 2nd inning. OU – 0 vs JMU – 1
Another cruddy inning. Two tiny infield hits right to the pitcher and the second base. Well, we got a walk, so runner on 1st! Crap! That didn’t last very long. Stupid pop-up to center. Third out! Come on, gotta’ do better than this! OU – 0 vs JMU – 1. Two innings complete!
Well, that was also quick. JMU had three up and three down with no threats of any kind. That was pretty easy and should have been that way in the first inning. So, after two and a half innings, OU – 0 vs JMU – 1
First one up gets a walk, so runner on 1st and no outs! Top of the order coming up. Struck out! Pathetic! That was the Freshman of the Year and she didn’t hit nothing! Now the Player of the Year is up. Neither one of these 2 & 3 hitters have done anything. Still a runner on 1st. Hits it back to the warning track for an OUT! Dang! So, that’s two stupidly weak outs with a runner still on base. And another fly out on a long foul. So that’s completes three innings. Time is getting short for the Sooners. End of three, OU – 0 vs JMU – 1.
Ok, that was another three up and three down for the JMU Dukes. Not much offense there. After 3 and a half it’s OU -0 vs JMU – 1.
OU’s has got to do something and soon. Alright! Starting off with a triple! Way to go. Runner on third with no outs! Well, one out now with a strikeout. Fouled off a lot of pitches, but didn’t do any good. Ok, a walk and a wild pitch, runner scores! Hurray! OU ties it up. Runner stays on 1st with only one out. Ah, ground out to short, force at second. That’s two down with a runner still on 1st. That’s a hit, single. Runners one second an first, now with 2 outs. That’s a hit, runners advance to home and third then to second. OU goes ahead by 1. Still two outs, but runners in scoring positions. Back to back singles did the scoring. Struck out on a lousy pitch. Still, the Sooners finally lead. Good inning. After 3 complete innings, OU – 2 vs JMU – 1.
Top of the 4th coming up. Gotta’ hold’em. Ok, pretty nice inning. G. Juarez has nine strikeouts picking up two in this inning. Finished the inning off with a slow roller to the pitcher. Three up and three down. Four and a half innings complete, OU – 2 vs JMU – 1.
2-3-4 batters up for the Sooners. So far they haven’t done much! Jocelyn Alo had done anything. She flies out again. Ok, at least we got a single. Runner on 1st with one out. That’s was a deep ball, but not deep enough. The outfielder almost didn’t make the catch! Still, that’s two outs with a runner on 1st. Ok, another single, but that doesn’t do much but advance the runner to second with another on first! Alright, that was a double! And two more runs will score! That was Mackenzie Donihoo and she’s been a whole terror for this team! That’s with two outs! JMU coach is out talking to their pitcher. She’ll stay in the game. I think she’s getting tired. And there’s another hit and two more runs score! Wow! This is what we wanted to see. All this on singles and doubles. Now she hits the next batter. So we still have runners on first and second. It is now OU – 6 vs JMU – 1!!!!
Ok, I had to go eat, but while I was away, OU did score one more run on a Alo home run after I called her out for not doing anything. So, it’s now in the top of the 7th inning and OU leads 7 to 1. They have just gotten one out so two more outs and it’s over! I’m surprised that G. Juarez lasted so long. She did seem to get stronger as the game went on. Humm…JMU have gotten two runners on now. That last one was a walk. Now Juarez can’t seem to find the plate. Here comes the OU pitching coach. Get this stopped now and go home! Only one out for this top of the 7th inning. Struck her out. Now that’s a pitch. Two outs, only one more to go! A dribbler to the pitcher, over to first and that’s the ball game! OU win’s 7 to 1 and goes to the Women’s College World Series Softball Championship game!
