Final Score: ISU 21 – OU 28
Both teams come out scoring on their first drives. After the it really slowed down. OU wasn’t doing much of anything on offense all game.OU finally scored again late in the 3rd Qtr. So it was 14 to 7 and then OU scores very late in the 3rd Qtr again! That’s good. Now keep ISU from scoring. Didn’t happen.
Apparently ISU is operating with their 2nd string QB and they are still scoring TDs.Both teams finally score in the 4th Qtr, but OU had the edge so OU won! We got after the ISU QBs pretty good all day and our offense was just doing barely enough to stay in the game. We had some passes dropped and Williams seems to be hesitating to much when deciding whether to throw or not. Sometimes he just needs to take off and run, but he’s not doing that. He’s also not looking for the outlet pass which several times could have gotten us a 1st down with just a short pass to the flat and a short run by our backs. We also need to do a little better on special teams. Almost muffed a couple of punts and a kick-off return. They look really shaky out there.
ISU’s tight end is a big guy and he ran OU’s defense ragged. If they had thrown the ball to him 10 times, this game would have been over early. Nobody on our defense can cover the guy so he catches everything right down the middle of the field. It was terrible tackling and terrible pass coverage. but we escaped with another close win!
