18:00 Got the Tahoe back. All the work was done and it only cost us $159 and change. The Chevy guy came and picked me up right around 3:50 or so and I waited at the dealers for them to glue the light cover on so that took another 30 minutes. Ramona had ordered pizza around 5 and it just so happened that it got to our house about 5 minutes before I did. Nice timing! So, that’s all done.
Took the Tahoe in for routine maintenance today in preparation for our trip. They will do an oil change, tire rotation and alignment plus all the usual safety inspections. I hope there’s nothing wrong with the brakes or anything, but if there is, might as well know about it now.
I showed them the light cover for the rear passenger lights. The hole where it’s supposed to fit is broken or at least one of the prongs that keeps it in place is busted. I told them to just tape it up there and not worry about messing with something so minor. They said they would so hopefully it won’t fall out on it’s own.
We were going to wait even thought the said it could be three to three and half hours, but the service rep. volunteered to take us home and come get us later. I said that would be OK. So, we’re home now and they will come no later than 3:40 pm to pick us up and return us to the dealer. If it’s still being worked on, we’ll have to wait there, but I can’t image it would take much longer. Apparently, there’s a lot of people getting ready for vacations and getting their vehicles maintained is one of the things
everyone is trying to get done.
I bought another gadget yesterday. This one will let me look under the seats in the Tahoe in an attempt to find my ring! It’s one of those endoscope things that are used by doctors or plumbers. The cord is stiff with a small camera at the end plus a light. I can take HD picture or videos and see what I’m looking at as I snake it around under the seats. It cost about $80 so while it wasn’t cheap, there were a ton more that got very expensive.
I bought some other stuff too. I got a stand for the MacBook Pro 13. Not sure I needed one, but I’ve been looking at them for awhile. And I bought some different bumper/grips for the Switch. This set will allow of charging while in the dock. The current one won’t. Everything will be delivered tomorrow and so will Ramona’s flowers. It is our 51st Anniversary after all!
