Final Score: OU 37 – Kansas 31
This was a game of mistakes and few opportunities. Kansas State kept the ball during much of the first and second half thereby limiting OU’s opportunities to score. When we did get the ball, we didn’t always do anything constructive with it. We had several drives that resulted in field goals instead of TDs and that’s not great. We also couldn’t stop Kansas State from doing what they wanted especially with the pass. Our secondary just can’t cover anything. OU lead at the half, 13 to 10, which is another weird game of low scoring. OU fans are definitely not used to the very lousy OU offensive production. Spencer Rattler is just going through the motions and not inspiring a lot of confidence in the team. He’s definitely a good QB, but not great in my opinion.
We were playing fairly well up until the fourth quarter. Then our defense couldn’t stop a high school team. Kansas State scored two late TDs through our mistakes and penalties! That’s how they got so close there at the end. Just stupid, undisciplined football mistakes! A game we should have won going away, but ended with two on-side kicks by Kansas State that we, fortunately, recovered. It’s going to be a very tough time in Dallas next week when we tangle with Texas.
