Not much going on right now. Yesterday, the 25th of May, was my 71 Birthday. I got a lot of B’Day wishes thanks to Facebook friends and others I do not know. Seems like Ramona’s cousins follow her lead in wishing me (and anyone else) a Happy Birthday.
Travis called so we invited him and Pat to dinner. We planned on going to Biff Buzzby’s just the two of us, but Pat and Travis said they would meet us there if we could wait until 6 pm. We did that so, they came with Kade and then Trinity eventually showed up. A very nice Birthday dinner, but the food wasn’t that special.
Last night I finished another book. This one was pretty good. It was “Lost Contact” by Nathan Hystad. He writes pretty good books. I’ve read a number of them so I’m kind of familiar with his writing style. This wasn’t a hardcore sci-fi book by any means. And it certainly wasn’t military sci-fi book. It was more of a detective mystery story along the lines of Indiana Jones. In fact, it’d probably make a very good movie if someone wanted to do that. There are two more books in the series (“Lost Time” & “Lost Hope”) and I’ve already put them on my Kindle list although they won’t be available until 2 June and 6 July respectively.
Well, tomorrow the OU Women’s Softball team will begin their Super Regional Tournament with Washington State. I believe they play at 2 pm on Friday and then at 3 pm on Saturday. It’s double elimination so whoever wins for Friday will have to win the first game on Saturday or it’s all over. Let’s hope the winner is OU and it should be. They will be a heavy favorite since OU was the #1 seed and Washington State the #16 for this entire College World Series tournament.
I dropped out of the clan I was in for Clash of Clans. I just wasn’t doing anything useful. I was donating a lot of troops, but I couldn’t win any attacks after studying and watching a lot of Youtube videos. It just wasn’t working. Most of the time, those videos had troops way higher than the level I have now. It takes a lot of time and credits to build up a max army and most of those guys playing on Youtube have just that, maximum levels and maximum numbers. It’s easy to wipe someone out when you got that kind of troops. And you also don’t have the flexibility of changing troops once you get to the wars. Things have also change a lot since I last played. I’ll cool it for awhile and then might combat when I have some decent troops. It’s also costing me a lot of money that I could be spending on other stuff.
